March 2010 update

Hey everyone,

Thanks again to all who came out for the Haiti benefit screening of "One Peace At A Time" back on the 17th! A special gratitude goes out to director Turk Pipkin for coming up from Austin and for being so gracious in sharing his film with us.

Between projects and the fundraiser we had a very busy late-January, early-February. Because of this we opted not to have a February general meeting. However we are very excited to get back on track in the month of March, and have several project updates and other news.

With St. Patty's day being on a Wednesday, we will have the meeting on 24th, location to-be-determined (in Fort Worth; maybe West 7th St., open to suggestions). Look for an invite to go out next week. A few reminders for the upcoming meeting:

1. If you haven't already, please register as a chapter member on the new Architecture for Humanity chapter network at:

2. Also, this month we will be nominating chapter officers (with elections to follow), so please be thinking about how you'd like to get more involved or if you know of someone who would. This will be our first election, so we are open to the types of positions created; public relations, fundraising, project managers, just to name a few. 3. It has been almost two months since Haiti was devastated by the tragic earthquake. In less than 30 seconds, a nation changed. What can you really say. We've all seen the pictures, heard the voices and struggled to comprehend what life must be like for the 1.5M homeless and the families of the 200,000 that perished.
